ABOUT THE LIBRARY
College Library was established in the year 1965 when the college was started. The library started with 3489 books. Now it possesses 75152 volumes including Textbook, Reference books and non-book materials.

Library Services
​
1. Circulation
Members of the library includes all students enrolled in the college, teaching faculties and non-teaching staff of the college. Students can borrow books for a period of 7 days. Two library cards are issuing for the students for lending of books. One card for home issue and one card for reference reading. Books are issued to the students for a period of One week and late fee will be charged if anybody fails to return the book on or before due date. No of books being issued to Teachers are twenty and two for Non-Teaching staff for a period of six months.
2. Reference service
Reference and information service have always been the main component of library services. Reference collection in the library includes Dictionaries, Encyclopedias, yearbooks, handbooks etc. Library provides reference service to its users in accessing suitable information resources to meet their needs.
3. Old Question Papers
Question papers of the previous year are available at the help desk for reference, at the time of examination.
4. Book Bank Facility
Apart from library’s routine circulation, the Library is providing Book Bank facility for students. This facility is meant primarily for students of weaker sections. Students can avail this facility, which allows lending of textbooks for the whole academic year. The books have to be returned after the term end examination. Library is charging Rs.150/-for the use of these books.
5. Catalogue
Library catalogue is available of library database. One OPAC terminal is installed at the entrance of the Library for searching the books and member database. Library is connected with the Computer lab and some Departments through LAN. Web OPAC facility is provided for searching library database through LAN.

Users can access 6,000+ e-journals, 1,99,500+ e-books under N-LIST and 6,00,000 e-books through NDL under the National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content (N-LIST) project which is being jointly executed by the UGC-INFONET Digital Library, INFLIBNET Centre and and the INDEST-AICTE Consortium, IT Delhi.
Library Automation
Library is partially computerized using the software SOUL 3.0, which is compliant to international standards such as MARC 21 bibliographic format. Details of all book collection in the library is available on the library database. Acquisition and cataloging are doing using computer and issue/return is started for the staff on trial basis. Library software supports Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) and Web OPAC. This catalogue has the provision to search the books by Author, Title, Subject, Class No, and Publisher etc. and has a provision to check the member status also.

Library Committee
Library has a Library Advisory committee Chaired by the Principal. It helps in planning of the administration of the library. Main responsibilities are to frame the rules and regulations for use of the library, and to prepare the budget and check the expenditure.
